Mom of the Month- April

{1} Tell us about you and your family!

My name is Kat and I am the mother of two beautiful rambunctious boys and wife to my other half David!

Elijah is 4 he is our oldest and Atlas just turned 2.

Our family is pretty active and loves being outside. Our boys might never come in if we didn't make them. On the weekend you can usually find us running/walking/playing at the park.

{2} What do you like most about being a mom?

I love seeing the things you've taught your kids in action. And then being amazed at the things they learn on their own. I love seeing Elijah's compassion and Atlas' understanding of a new word or concept.

And of course the snuggles, both my boys are snugglers and I wouldn't change that for the world. I like knowing that we are raising little boys to be gentlemen. I'm extremely proud of both our boys and I just can't even remember what it was like before them as cheesy as that sounds. I enjoy everything about being their Mom!

{3} Why do you stick with Stroller Strides as your workout program?

The short answer is because I have two little boys watching me and I want to set a good example. Right now they say I'm strong and I'd like to keep it that way!

I have tired many workout routines in the past and nothing has worked as well as Stroller Strides. I find myself pushing myself harder when I'm with our village. And that's just it, its not just a workout program I have found some of my best friends through SS. I initally went for the workout but stayed for the community and friendship.

{4} What would you tell a first time mom to encourage them to take time for them?

When you first become a mother in those first few weeks and months all you are is a mom. You forget your name and who you are because really all that matters are those 10 fingers and those 10 little toes. Someone much wiser than me told me once, our children need a mother that's whole. And a mother that's whole is made up of different parts. If you forget to water half your garden only the half you water will grow. So don't forget to water your whole garden and not just the baby carrots. It's ok to take a moment for yourself. It will make you an even better mother because of it.

{5} Any funny stories about SS or with kids or mom stories??

It never fails something happens during our workout and I get an impromptu ab workout from laughter.

Most of the laughing comes from me doing an exercise backwards or forgetting my left and right for a split second. But if you just keep moving you are winning!
