Week 3

I’ve been pretty steady in my weight loss over the past three weeks; one pound each week. At first I was discouraged, immediately thinking I must not have worked hard enough or ate the right things, or drank enough water. But I quickly dismissed those negative thoughts and instead used some of my positive self-talk I’ve been learning at body back.

I am strong.

I am worth it.

I will work hard.

I will accomplish my goals.

I can do this.

And losing weight isn’t the only objective. I feel more toned, more confident, and stronger. And it’s only been three weeks. A big part of body back is gaining self confidence that so many women, mothers or not, lack.

I am excited to be using the meal plan and food diary. At the beginning of body back, we were given two meal journals with ideas for every meal of the day, including snacks. Being able to refer to these have been really helpful.

Instead of the hand-written diary, I’ve been tracking my progress on My Fitness Pal. It’s a free app that allows you to see exactly what you’re eating, and lets you check in with friends too. It’s just another way to be held accountable, knowing that at any point in the day, my friends can see what I just ate for lunch {#putdownthecandybar}.

Each workout this week was different than before; it was hard, challenging us in different ways, making sure to hit all muscle groups, ensuring we will be sore for the next few days. But one thing stays consistent: after every workout, I leave ready to conquer it all -- the stress from the day, the two-year-old tantrums, the laundry, my marriage, my life. This fuels me, and I keep wanting more.
